Affected Batteries may overheat and catch on fire , which can result in severe property damage, serious injuries or death. Incidents have occured and caused damage to property and injury.

  • LG ESS Home Batteries are installed as part of a residential energy solar system which allows owners to capture and store energy from solar panels.

  • You should urgently check your home batteries serial number via our Serial Number Checker to know whether your product is affected. If you have previously checked your LG battery, please check it again because the recalls have expanded to include additional models and batteries.

What should I do?

You should urgently check your serial number using our Serial Number Checker to confirm whether your battery is affected, or if you need help checking by calling us on (+61) 1300 677 273 or emailing productau@lgensol.com. Instructions on how to find your serial number can be found on our Serial Number Checker page.

If you used to live at a property that has one of these products but no longer live at that property, please get in contact with LGESAU by completing the form here.

  • My battery is subject to the Replacement Recall
    1. What should I do?
      Register your affected battery with LGESAU
      1. So that LGESAU can remediate your affected battery, you must register your affected battery by going to the Serial Number Checker page and entering the requested details or by contacting us via telephone or email.
      Switch off your battery
      1. Please see the instructions HERE for information on how to switch off the battery.
      2. If you have an affected battery, immediately switch off your battery storage system and keep it switched off to minimize the risk of fire.
      3. To switch off the battery storage systems safely, you should refer to the instructions for the battery storage system or contact the installer or LGESAU for advice.
      4. LGESAU is offering compensation to affected consumers to offset any increase to your electricity bill or costs incurred for alternate energy supply following switch-off or shut down of affected batteries.
      5. LGESAU acknowledges the inconvenience that these important electrical safety recalls may cause. If you require assistance or have any questions, please contact LGESAU. LGESAU will also work with you to coordinate alternative power sources if needed and work around your availability to conduct site visits.
    2. What happens next?
      Remedies available
      1. LGESAU will replace all affected batteries for free or provide a full refund and remove the battery from your premises.
      2. Affected batteries should be switched off until replacement or removal.
  • My battery is subject to the Diagnostic Software Recall
    1. What is the remedy?
      1. Under the recall, LGESAU is rolling out free diagnostic software, which has been assessed by Energy Safe Victoria and has been designed by LGES to identify and shut down batteries at risk of overheating.
      2. LGESAU is rolling out the software remotely where possible, and otherwise via a technician site visit at no cost to consumers.
    2. What should I do?
      Register your affected battery with LGESAU
      1. So that LGESAU can remediate your affected battery, you must register your affected battery by going to the Serial Number Checker page and entering the requested details or by contacting us via telephone or email.
      Switch off your battery
      1. Please see the instructions HERE for information on how to switch off the battery.
      2. If you have an affected battery and you are yet to receive diagnostic software either remotely or from a technician site visit, or do not know if the diagnostic software has been installed or not, please switch the battery off and contact LGESAU to check the status of your battery and schedule a technician site visit to receive the diagnostic software. To minimise the risk of fire, please keep the battery switched off until the diagnostic software is installed.
      3. LGESAU is offering compensation to affected consumers to offset any increase to your electricity bill or costs incurred for alternate energy supply following switch-off or shut down of affected batteries.
      4. LGESAU acknowledges the inconvenience that these important electrical safety recalls may cause. If you require assistance or have any questions, please contact LGESAU.     3. What happens if the
      diagnostic software
      shutdowns my battery?
      Replacement or Refund where the diagnostic software shuts down your battery
      1. If the diagnostic software shuts down your battery, contact LGESAU by phone on (+61) 1300 677 273 or by email to productau@lgensol.com. LGESAU will replace or provide a full refund for batteries shut down by the diagnostic software and remove those batteries from your property at no cost to you.
  • My battery is NOT subject to any Recall
    1. What should I do?
      Register your contact information to ensure LGESAU can contact you for product support
      1. Even though your product does not require further work, we would like to ask you to click HERE and complete the consumer registration form.
      2. The scope of the products subject to recall has expanded in the past and it is also possible to make an error when reading or entering your serial number. Providing us with your contact details is the best way to ensure that the most current information is available to you.
      3. Please note, unless you gives your consent, any data collected will not be used for sales advertising purposes and will only be used for product support, campaign and recall purposes.
